Jaishankar Meets German Officials to Strengthen Ties

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is currently in Germany for the second leg of a three-nation tour, where he engaged in discussions with key political figures, including CDU Chairman Friedrich Merz and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. He emphasized strengthening the India-Germany strategic partnership, addressing bilateral trade, investment, and cooperation in defence and security. Jaishankar also spoke on pressing global challenges, including the situations in Ukraine and Gaza, and explored new collaboration opportunities between the two nations. Additionally, he participated in a debate organized by the Munich Security Conference, focusing on multipolarity and security challenges. Jaishankar expressed appreciation for the insights shared by German parliament members and looked forward to future consultations, including the 7th Intergovernmental Consultations in India.
