This marks a continuation of a trend, as Phoenix set or matched daily temperature records 39 times in 2024, making it the warmest year in the city's history. Similar warming trends are observed in Topeka, which experienced its second-warmest year in 2024, attributed to rising greenhouse gas emissions. Mumbai also saw unusual temperature spikes with a high of 36°C, the warmest January temperature in eight years. These instances reflect a broader pattern of increasing temperatures driven by climate change, with forecasts predicting continued above-average temperatures in these regions.
