DUI Suspect Charged in Fatal I-5 Crash
A suspected DUI driver caused a fatal two-car collision on Interstate 5 near Milton late Sunday night, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old man from Goshen, Indiana. The crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. when a Ford Mustang, driven by a 26-year-old Auburn man, rear-ended a Toyota Camry, causing both vehicles to spin out. The driver of the Mustang is facing charges of DUI and vehicular homicide, while a passenger in the Mustang, who was injured, may face obstruction charges. The collision led to a closure of the southbound lanes for approximately four hours. The investigation is ongoing, with drugs or alcohol suspected to be factors in the crash. The identity of the deceased will be released pending family notification.
