Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch several major transportation projects during his visit to Gujarat. On September 16, he will inaugurate India's first Vande Bharat Metro, running between Ahmedabad and Bhuj, designed for short-distance inter-city travel with advanced features and a top speed of 130 kmph. Additionally, Modi will unveil the second phase of the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar metro rail extension, enhancing connectivity between key locations like GIFT City and Gujarat National Law University. This phase spans 21 kilometers and is funded by international agencies. Meanwhile, in Chennai, the first driverless train for Metro phase-2 is expected to arrive by the end of September and will undergo extensive testing before its December 2025 launch. These initiatives reflect India's ongoing efforts to modernize its rail infrastructure and improve urban mobility.
