Netflix Reveals 'The Twits' Animated Musical Featuring Star-Studded Cast
Netflix is set to release an animated musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's 1980 novel "The Twits" on October 17, 2025. This film marks the first-ever screen adaptation of the book and is directed, produced, and co-written by Phil Johnston, known for his work on "Ralph Breaks the Internet." The story follows the horrid Mr. and Mrs. Twit, who run a dangerous amusement park called Twitlandia and seize control of their town, prompting two children, Beesha and Bubsy, along with a family of magical Muggle-Wumps, to outwit them. The voice cast includes Johnny Vegas and Margo Martindale as the Twits, with Emilia Clarke, Natalie Portman, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Ryan Lopez providing voices for other key characters. The animation is by Jellyfish Pictures, and the soundtrack features original songs by David Byrne and Hayley Williams of Paramore. This adaptation comes after Netflix's acquisition of the Roald Dahl Story Company, promising more Dahl-related projects in the future.
