Mercedes Unveils W16, Targets 2025 Season Improvements

Mercedes has unveiled their 2025 Formula 1 car, the W16, marking the start of a new era following Lewis Hamilton's departure to Ferrari. The team aims to improve on their 2024 performance where they finished fourth in the constructors' standings, behind McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull. The W16 is expected to address past performance inconsistencies, specifically slow corner turning and tyre imbalance. George Russell, who won two races last year, is now the senior driver, supported by rookie Kimi Antonelli, the youngest-ever driver for Mercedes. Team Principal Toto Wolff and Technical Director James Allison express optimism about the improvements made, though they acknowledge the challenges posed by other strong competitors like McLaren. The car will undergo a shakedown test in Bahrain before the official pre-season testing begins.
