Luis de la Fuente Extends Contract With Spain Until 2028

Luis de la Fuente has extended his contract as head coach of the Spanish national football team until Euro 2028, as confirmed by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). This extension comes after de la Fuente led Spain to a historic fourth European Championship title in 2024, defeating England in the final. He took over the senior team in December 2022, following Spain's exit from the World Cup, and previously coached various youth teams, winning both the under-19 and under-21 European championships. The new contract ensures de la Fuente will guide Spain through the upcoming 2026 World Cup and the 2028 European Championship. Spain will begin their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign later this year, starting with a match against the Netherlands in March.
