Beaufort, Port Royal Designated Fire Safe Communities

Communities across the U.S. are taking proactive steps to reduce fire risks as wildfire threats intensify, with designations such as Fire Safe and Firewise recognizing these efforts. In South Carolina, Beaufort and Port Royal earned Fire Safe status by completing national risk reduction courses and conducting extensive public education, smoke alarm installations, and safety inspections. Four Colorado neighborhoods in Morrison's Willow Springs were recognized as Firewise sites for their wildfire mitigation work.
