IU Players Sue Over Sexual Abuse Allegations

Former Indiana University basketball players Haris Mujezinovic and Charlie Miller have accused team doctor Brad Bomba Sr. of sexual abuse during their time at the university in the 1990s. They have filed a class action lawsuit in the U.S. District Court, alleging that Bomba conducted inappropriate prostate and rectal exams that were unnecessary and invasive. The lawsuit claims that these practices were known among players and staff, and that Indiana University (IU) failed to protect them, constituting a violation of Title IX. IU has responded by hiring Jones Day, a law firm, to conduct an independent review of the allegations. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and urges other victims to come forward. Bomba, who served as IU's team physician for nearly 30 years, is also a member of the IU Athletics Hall of Fame.
