Fresno Substitute Teacher Arrested for Sex Crimes

Carlos Gonzalez, a 43-year-old certified substitute teacher for Fresno Unified, was arrested on multiple sex charges after allegedly contacting minors for sexual purposes through the messaging app Kik. Investigators have identified two victims so far—one in Fresno and another in Visalia—and fear there may be additional victims due to Gonzalez's teaching role. Gonzalez reportedly sent harmful material to minors and attempted to arrange in-person meetings but was apprehended before any such meetings took place. Fresno Unified has since blocked Gonzalez's employment access. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information or who may be a victim to come forward, with the possibility of anonymity and rewards. The investigation remains ongoing and highlights concerns about technology misuse by school personnel.
