Sensio Recalls 12,300 Espresso Machines Due to Burn Hazards

Sensio Inc. is recalling approximately 12,300 Bella Pro Series and Cooks Steam Espresso Makers due to a defect that can cause the brew cup handle to eject forcefully, resulting in shattering of the glass carafe and posing a burn and laceration hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported 18 incidents of handles ejecting, with eight cases resulting in injuries. These machines were sold at JCPenney stores and online at BestBuy.com from August 2023 through January 2025, priced between $40 and $60. Consumers are advised to stop using the machines immediately and contact Sensio for a refund.
