Tata Technologies Data Breach Exposes Sensitive Information

Tata Technologies, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, has experienced a data breach following a ransomware attack by a group named Hunters International, which claims to have stolen over 1.4 terabytes of data. This data, now published on the dark web, includes personal information of current and former employees, as well as confidential business documents like purchase orders and contracts with clients in India and the United States. The attack was previously disclosed by Tata Technologies in January, when they reported that some IT assets were affected but assured that client services were not disrupted. However, it remains unclear if the leaked data is directly linked to this earlier incident. Hunters International is a recently emerged ransomware-as-a-service group with connections to the disrupted Hive ransomware gang, known for previous cyberattacks, including one against Tata Power. Tata Technologies has yet to comment on the data breach despite multiple requests.
