Teenagers Charged for Selling Weapons Online

Two 16-year-old boys from Stourport-on-Severn have been remanded in custody after being charged with selling weapons on social media, marking what is believed to be the first prosecution of its kind in the UK. Following a police raid, officers from Merseyside and West Mercia seized various weapons including machetes, swords, and flick knives, along with cash. The teenagers face multiple charges, including publishing material suggesting a knife was suitable for combat and possession of offensive weapons in a private place. They are set to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on October 23. Detective Sergeant Kieran Connolly emphasized the police's commitment to removing weapons from the streets and preventing them from reaching the wrong hands. The operation is part of a broader effort to combat knife crime and the online sale of weapons.
