Vama Faith-Tech Startup Secures ₹22 Crore Pre-Series A Funding to Expand Services
Vama, a Bengaluru-based faith-tech startup founded in 2020 by Acharya Dev and Manu Jain, has raised approximately $2.47 to $2.7 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Wavemaker Partners with participation from 500 Global, Sadev Ventures, Venture Catalysts, Silverneedle Ventures, and several angel investors. The company offers virtual spiritual and religious services including temple pujas, astrology consultations, and spiritual products through its platform and recently launched an e-commerce vertical called Vama Mall, which has gained significant traction. Vama reported doubling its revenue to around ₹19.5-20 crore ($2.4-2.5 million) in FY24/25 and aims to double revenue again in FY25/26, targeting EBITDA profitability by late FY26 or early FY27. With over 150,000 paying users currently, the startup plans to scale to 1 million users within two years and expand its temple partnerships from 250 to 500, while also venturing into offline spiritual travel and catering to the global non-resident Indian community. The company is valued at approximately ₹147-149 crore ($17 million) post-money and competes with players like AppsForBharat, which recently raised $20 million, as well as DevDham, Utsav App, and Ghar Mandir. Vama's growth reflects increasing investor interest in the faith-tech sector, driven by rising demand for digital and offline spiritual services and content.
