Rockies end 8-game losing streak, Senzatela earns first win since 2022
The Colorado Rockies ended their eight-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Washington Nationals in the second game of a doubleheader, thanks to Antonio Senzatela's first victory since June 2022 following a lengthy recovery from a torn ACL and Tommy John surgery. Senzatela pitched six strong innings, allowing only one run and walking just one batter, marking his first quality start of the season and showing improved efficiency. Mickey Moniak provided key offensive support with a two-run triple in the fourth inning, giving Colorado the lead, while Nick Martini added an insurance run with an RBI groundout in the eighth. Rookie Zach Agnos made his major league debut, pitching a scoreless eighth, and Tyler Kinley earned his first save of the year. The Nationals won the opener of the doubleheader 3-2, but were stifled in the nightcap despite Nathaniel Lowe's three-hit effort. The Rockies' win also highlighted their unusual success in home series finales, now 3-0 in such games this season, despite broader struggles.
