Braves End 13-Game California Losing Streak With 9-2 Victory
Ronald Acuña Jr. led the Atlanta Braves to a 9-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics by hitting two home runs, including a leadoff blast that helped the Braves break a 13-game losing streak in California. The Braves hit a season-high five homers in the game, with additional home runs from Drake Baldwin, Austin Riley, and Marcell Ozuna. Bryce Elder earned his first win since May 4, pitching 6 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts while allowing two earned runs. The Braves had been winless in 11 games in California this season prior to this victory, their last California win dating back to August 2024. The teams are set to finish their three-game series with a game scheduled for Thursday, featuring Braves pitcher Spencer Strider against Athletics' JP Sears. Atlanta improved to a 40-51 record, holding fourth place in the NL East and trailing the division leaders.
