In Joliet, Illinois, two separate shooting incidents have resulted in arrests. Julius Jenkins, 42, was arrested for allegedly firing a gun at his daughter's boyfriend during a dispute, though the victim was unharmed. Jenkins was found with three handguns and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and other offenses. In another case, 19-year-old Marcus Gilbert and a 15-year-old boy face multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, for a shooting that injured two teenagers outside a grocery store on August 28. The victims, aged 15 and 17, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at a local hospital. Gilbert was arrested while already on pre-trial release for a previous gun charge.
