GWAR Releases New Single 'The Great Circus Train Disaster' Ahead of Multimedia Launch

Shock rock band GWAR continues their 40th anniversary celebration with the release of "The Great Circus Train Disaster," the second single from their upcoming multimedia project The Return of Gor Gor, out July 25 via Pit Records and Z2 Comics. The single is accompanied by an animated music video depicting a chaotic circus train derailment filled with the band's signature outrageous imagery. Guitarist Grodius Maximus described the song's creation as inspired by surreal hallucinations during a wild session, leading to immediate recording success, and noted growing interest from major industry players like MTV, Def Jam, and artists such as Charlie XCX, Slipknot, and Garth Brooks. The Return of Gor Gor features three new songs mixed by Kurt Ballou and four live tracks from their 2024 tour, along with a 32-page comic included with all versions and limited edition vinyl with animated etchings. This release continues GWAR's tradition of blending shock rock theatrics with multimedia storytelling, underlining their enduring presence in the rock scene. The band is also currently touring North America as part of the anniversary celebration.
