Azerbaijan Bars Airspace, Territory for Attacks on Iran

Following Israel's recent military strikes on multiple locations inside Iran, including nuclear facilities and residential buildings, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov firmly stated that Azerbaijan will not allow its airspace or territory to be used for attacks against Iran or any other country. Bayramov expressed condolences over the deaths of Iranian military commanders and civilians, emphasizing solidarity with Iran and condemning the aggression. Both Azerbaijani and Iranian foreign ministers highlighted the importance of resolving regional tensions through dialogue and diplomatic means in accordance with international law. Iran responded to Israel's attacks with a large-scale missile strike on the occupied Palestinian territories, targeting numerous strategic sites. Iranian officials condemned Israel's actions as violations of national sovereignty and international regulations, warning of a decisive response. Azerbaijan also facilitated passage through its land borders for various countries and Iran amid the closure of Iranian airspace, underscoring efforts to prevent escalation and promote diplomatic solutions.
