Bright Eyes has canceled their upcoming record release shows due to lead vocalist Conor Oberst losing his voice, following a challenging warm-up performance in Cleveland where he displayed concerning behavior. The trio of shows scheduled for Brooklyn, Chicago's Riot Fest, and Omaha were set to coincide with the release of their new album, 'Five Dice, All Threes', on September 20. In their official statement, the band expressed heartbreak over the decision, emphasizing the need to prioritize Oberst's health and vowing to reschedule the dates while offering refunds at points of purchase. Fans have raised concerns about Oberst’s well-being after he appeared intoxicated and made alarming comments during recent performances. Despite this setback, Bright Eyes plans to return to the stage for a series of shows starting October 11, with a larger North American tour planned for early 2024. The album features collaborations with notable artists and marks their first release in four years.
