Lawrence’s Last-Second TD Lifts Jaguars 31-28
The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 on Monday night in Jacksonville after Trevor Lawrence scrambled one yard into the end zone with 23 seconds remaining for the game-winning touchdown. Lawrence was 18-of-25 for 221 yards with one passing touchdown, and added 54 rushing yards with two rushing TDs; he called the decisive play “sheer panic.” Patrick Mahomes went 29-of-41 for 318 yards with one TD and one interception. The loss dropped Kansas City to 2-3, while the Jaguars improved to 4-1, extended their win streak to three games and sit atop the AFC South. The victory was Jacksonville’s first over Kansas City since November 2009 in a back-and-forth game that featured explosive second-half offense.
