Young Elephant Seal Safely Rescued in Gordon's Bay

A young male southern elephant seal surprised Gordon's Bay residents in South Africa after wandering nearly a kilometer from shore and resting on parked cars before stopping near a shopping mall. The two-ton animal appeared fatigued, raising concerns about its health and prompting a swift rescue response. The Cape of Good Hope SPCA, city veterinarians, and several local organizations coordinated to safely sedate and transport the seal back to the ocean.
