Chris Ash Joins Notre Dame as Defensive Coordinator

Notre Dame has hired veteran defensive coach Chris Ash as its new defensive coordinator, replacing Al Golden, who moved to the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals. Ash brings extensive experience from both college and NFL roles, having coordinated defenses at Ohio State, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Texas, and coached in the NFL with Jacksonville and Las Vegas. During his tenure at Ohio State, Ash helped lead the team to a national championship in 2014. Despite an unsuccessful stint as head coach at Rutgers, Ash is recognized for his defensive acumen and ability to develop top-tier defenses. He will be joining a Notre Dame team that recently reached the College Football Playoff National Championship and boasts a strong returning defensive lineup.
