HBO Max, Viu Plan Streaming Bundle Across Five Southeast Asian Countries

Warner Bros. Discovery and PCCW's Viu are launching a new streaming bundle combining HBO Max and Viu services in a single subscription across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, set for Q4 2025. This pioneering multi-market Asia Pacific deal will offer subscribers access to premium Hollywood content from HBO Max, such as The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Harry Potter, and upcoming movies like A Minecraft Movie, alongside Viu's popular Asian programming, including Korean and Chinese dramas, reality series like Running Man, and local productions. The bundle aims to provide enhanced entertainment value by merging two complementary content libraries, helping to drive subscriber growth and retention in the region. James Gibbons, Warner Bros. Discovery’s Asia Pacific president, highlighted the success of similar bundles globally as a motivation for this initiative. Viu CEO Janice Lee emphasized the partnership's strategic importance in expanding Viu's offerings and competitiveness against global streaming rivals. This collaboration underscores the growing trend of streaming service bundling as a strategy to broaden content access and market reach.
