Tiger Woods Withdraws from Hero World Challenge

Tiger Woods has announced that he will not participate in the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, which he hosts, due to recovery from his sixth back surgery for lumbar spine nerve impingement. Woods, 48, underwent the procedure in September and has been dealing with injuries that have limited his competitive schedule. Although he expressed disappointment at missing the tournament, he remains involved as the host and has announced that Justin Thomas, Jason Day, and Nick Dunlap will join the competition. His absence was expected as he continues to recover and hopes to alleviate back spasms and pain. Woods has not competed since missing the cut at The Open in July, and his status for the December PNC Championship remains uncertain.
