David Harrington Joins Wales Squad for UEFA Matches

David Harrington, a 24-year-old goalkeeper from Cork, has been called up to the Wales senior squad for upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Turkey and Iceland. Despite being previously part of the Republic of Ireland camp under interim manager John O'Shea, Harrington qualifies for Wales through his father, Phil, a former goalkeeper. Having joined Fleetwood Town in January 2023, Harrington has made an impressive start to the season, keeping five clean sheets in 14 appearances. He joins fellow goalkeepers Danny Ward, Karl Darlow, and Tom King in the Welsh squad. Harrington is expected to assess his options regarding international allegiance during this camp, as he was previously capped at the U-21 level for Ireland but did not play in the senior friendlies.
