Former PCSO Charged with Fraud in Stabbing Case

Former Surrey Police Community Support Officer Olivia Morphew, 24, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, charged with perverting the course of justice, fraud, and possession of a knife in a public place. Morphew is accused of deliberately stabbing herself in June 2022 to claim compensation for her injuries. The charges come after an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which began following a conduct referral from Surrey Police in July 2022. The IOPC concluded its investigation in April 2023 and referred the case to the Crown Prosecution Service, which authorized the charges. Morphew resigned from Surrey Police during the investigation in September 2022.
