David Lloyd Launches Ballet Classes for Dads

David Lloyd Clubs has introduced ballet classes exclusively for fathers, allowing them to bond with their children while learning dance moves like pirouettes and fouettés. Olympic gold medalist Greg Rutherford participated in the initiative with his daughter, emphasizing the importance of spending quality time together. The classes were inspired by a survey indicating that 73% of dads wish to engage more in their children's activities but cite lack of time due to work, finances, and social media distractions as barriers. Martin Evans, chief commercial officer at David Lloyd Clubs, noted the strong desire among dads to be more involved but acknowledged the challenges they face. On average, fathers report spending just over six hours a week with their kids, with one in five stating their time spent has decreased in the past year. The Daddy Ballet classes aim to facilitate more meaningful interactions between fathers and their children.
