Calgary Flames Beat Los Angeles Kings 3-1
The Calgary Flames secured a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings, propelled by captain Mikael Backlund, who scored and assisted, and Jonathan Huberdeau, who netted his sixth goal of the season. Rookie goaltender Dustin Wolf shone with 29 saves, nearly achieving his first NHL shutout, thwarted only by Trevor Moore's late goal for the Kings. Backlund's goal came at 10:42 in the second period, taking advantage of a defensive error, and was quickly followed by Huberdeau's score just 36 seconds later. Kevin Rooney sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final moments of the game. The Flames improved their record to 8-5-3, extending their point streak to four games, while the Kings fell to 9-5-3. Earlier, the Flames announced that forward Anthony Mantha would be sidelined for the season due to knee surgery.
