Tuscaloosa Arrests First-Degree Rape Suspect After 2010 Cold Case DNA Match

A 2010 sexual assault cold case in Tuscaloosa has seen a major development with the arrest of Stacey Deangelo Martin, who was linked to the crime through DNA evidence by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. The victim reported being assaulted by two men she met at the Southern Gentlemen's Club, with DNA confirming the involvement of two assailants. Martin, who was 25 years old at the time of the assault, was indicted for first-degree rape and is currently held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond. However, the second suspect, described as an older Black man between 35 and 50 years old, remains unidentified.
