Saleh, Coen Heated Exchange; Saleh Clarifies
After the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 26-21 win over the San Francisco 49ers, coaches Liam Coen and Robert Saleh were involved in a mic‑caught, postgame on‑field confrontation that required teammates and staff to separate them, with Coen shouting “Keep my name out of your f—ing mouth” and Saleh responding with profane threats. The exchange stemmed from Saleh’s pregame comment describing the Jaguars’ approach as a “legal(ly) advanced signal‑stealing‑type system,” which Saleh says was meant as a compliment about their film study and formations. Saleh has since acknowledged his poor word choice, repeatedly saying “it’s all good,” publicly praising Coen and his staff’s early success, and emphasizing that teams seek legal advantages through scouting and tape study. Coen likewise downplayed the spat, calling it “not a big deal” and saying the matter would be kept “in house.” Multiple outlets recorded the explicit back‑and‑forth, and no official complaint has been reported.
