The Israeli military has issued evacuation orders for residents in Baalbek and Douris, Lebanon, warning of imminent strikes on Hezbollah targets in the area. IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee emphasized the necessity for civilians to evacuate buildings near Hezbollah facilities, recommending a safe distance of at least 500 meters. This warning comes amidst escalating tensions following rocket fire from Lebanon that killed seven people in northern Israel, including Thai farmers. The conflict, which has resulted in over 1,900 deaths in Lebanon and 38 Israeli soldier fatalities, has been ongoing since clashes erupted on October 8, 2023, when Hezbollah began its rocket attacks in solidarity with Hamas. The IDF has also reported intercepting several projectiles launched from Lebanon. Additionally, Israeli naval forces captured a senior Hezbollah operative in a recent operation in northern Lebanon.
