Bank of Ireland begins €60m ATM upgrade across Ireland

Bank of Ireland has launched a €60 million initiative to upgrade its ATM network, promising the installation of 650 new machines across Ireland by the end of 2027. The first phase of the rollout has already seen 14 new ATMs deployed in various branches, with around 150 more set to follow within the year. These advanced ATMs will feature enhanced cash processing capabilities, energy efficiency improvements of over 50%, and the ability to recycle cash for withdrawals. Additionally, they will be equipped with accessibility features such as high-contrast screens and audio guidance for visually impaired customers. CEO Susan Russell emphasized the bank's commitment to modernizing its services to improve customer access to cash and overall financial well-being. This investment marks the bank's largest in ATM technology over the past decade.
