This project marks the 10-year anniversary of "Fight Song" and includes updated versions of tracks from her 2016 Wildfire album, live recordings, and a "surprise from the vault." Platten credits Taylor Swift’s pioneering re-recording efforts for inspiring her to reclaim ownership of her music and emphasizes that her new versions reflect her current voice, wisdom, and pride in owning her masters. The album was produced by Jon Levine, who also worked on the original Wildfire record. Platten highlighted the significance of these songs in her life and thanked Swift for empowering artists to regain control over their work.
