Katie Holmes Plans Write, Direct, Star Happy Hours Trilogy With Joshua Jackson
Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson, former co-stars of the TV series Dawson's Creek, are reuniting to collaborate on an upcoming film trilogy titled Happy Hours, which Holmes will write, direct, and star in alongside Jackson. The trilogy, a character-driven dramedy, explores the emotional journey of two former young lovers reconnecting as adults while balancing career challenges, family responsibilities, and the pursuit of love. Production began in New York City during the summer of 2025, with the second and third films scheduled for production shortly thereafter. The ensemble cast includes Mary-Louise Parker, Constance Wu, Joe Tippett, John McGinty, Donald Webber Jr., Nathan Darrow, and others. Produced by Maven Screen Media, Bond Street Station, Crown Productions, and STX Films, the project marks Holmes' fourth directorial effort, following her previous films and her launch of Lafayette Pictures to focus on authentic storytelling. Jackson, recently seen on ABC's Doctor Odyssey, continues to maintain close ties with Holmes and their Dawson's Creek castmates as they revive their on-screen partnership for this nostalgic and emotionally rich trilogy.
