Jahlil Okafor Signs Training Camp Contract with Pacers

Jahlil Okafor has signed a training camp contract with the Indiana Pacers, marking his return to the NBA after being out since the 2020-21 season. Previously drafted third overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2015, Okafor averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in his rookie season but struggled to maintain that level of performance throughout his career. His agreement with the Pacers comes after positive evaluations of his conditioning during summer workouts. Okafor is expected to compete for a roster spot, potentially starting the season with the G-League affiliate, the Indiana Mad Ants. The Mad Ants recently acquired Okafor's rights in a trade, and he previously played overseas and in the G-League. Meanwhile, the Pacers have also acquired former No. 2 pick James Wiseman to bolster their roster.
