Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested in Udupi Immigration Case

Seven Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in Udupi for using forged Aadhaar cards to reside illegally in India, alongside an eighth individual, Muhammed Manik, apprehended while attempting to fly to Dubai on a fake passport. The arrests followed investigations by the Udupi and Bajpe police, triggered by suspicious documentations discovered at Mangaluru International Airport. The accused, who entered India illegally via West Bengal, have been charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Foreigners Act. Authorities are investigating the origin of the forged documents and the methods by which they entered the country. In a related case, seven additional Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in Perundurai for lacking valid documentation, highlighting a broader concern over illegal immigration. Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna has called for a high-level inquiry into illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the region.
