Santa Monica Police Arrest Suspect for Attempted Murder in Stabbing
Authorities in Santa Monica arrested 24-year-old Malvin Walker in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on August 31 near Ocean Front Walk, where a restaurant employee was attacked while on his lunch break. The victim sustained multiple non-life-threatening stab wounds and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Walker was apprehended on September 3 by patrol officers without incident and charged with attempted murder, felony vandalism, and held on an outstanding $51,000 warrant for battery. The assault took place at the top of a pedestrian staircase connecting Ocean Front Walk to Appian Way, and the suspect fled on foot after the attack. Police are actively investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding the stabbing and have urged witnesses or anyone with relevant information to contact Detective Isaac Reyes or the Santa Monica Police Watch Commander. Walker remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
