Man Killed by Police in Fall River Standoff
Domonick Knight, a 38-year-old man reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis, was shot and killed by Fall River police during an armed standoff early Tuesday morning. Police evacuated residents and attempted to negotiate with Knight, but failed to establish communication. At about 3:15 a.m., officers entered the home and Knight allegedly fired at them from the top of the stairs, prompting police to return fire. A flashbang device was deployed before officers found Knight with a gunshot wound and two firearms nearby. Knight was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Bristol County District Attorney's Office and Massachusetts State Police are investigating, and police have released body camera footage of the incident.
