Jakub Moder joins Feyenoord from Brighton for £1.2m

Polish midfielder Jakub Moder has officially joined Feyenoord from Brighton on a permanent transfer for a fee potentially exceeding £3 million. The 25-year-old, who was signed by Brighton in October 2020, struggled for playing time after recovering from a serious ACL injury that sidelined him for the entire 2022-23 season. Moder expressed a desire for more regular first-team action, which was hindered by fierce competition in Brighton's midfield. He has made 60 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring two goals, but found himself primarily on the bench this season. Brighton's head coach Fabian Hurzeler noted Moder's impressive recovery and acknowledged the need for him to cement his place in the Polish national team. The midfielder has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Feyenoord, where he will reunite with former Brighton staff and a current loanee from the club.
