Pulp Releases First Single in 24 Years Ahead of Global Album Launch
Pulp has released their new single "Got To Have Love," the second from their forthcoming album "More," which will be their first new record in nearly 24 years, dropping on June 6, 2025 via Rough Trade Records. The disco-infused track is described by frontman Jarvis Cocker as a "slightly hysterical song" reflecting on his personal journey to embrace the word "love," which he says he couldn’t say until approaching age 40. The single follows April's release of "Spike Island" and is accompanied by a video directed by Cocker that features iconic Northern Soul dancing footage from the 1977 Wigan Casino documentary by Tony Palmer. The song's energetic and theatrical style, combined with its heartfelt lyrics, positions it as a likely live anthem for the band’s upcoming UK, Ireland, and North American tours. To celebrate the album's release, Pulp is hosting global in-store listening parties, including limited edition vinyl pre-orders tied to local record shops. Cocker emphasizes the transformative power of love and dancing, which is visually captured in the video, aligning with Pulp's artistic sensibilities and stage presence.
