Memphis Grizzlies' forward GG Jackson II underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot and will be re-evaluated in three months, around December. Jackson sustained the injury while playing basketball outside of Dallas during the offseason. The injury and subsequent surgery mean Jackson will miss the beginning of the 2024-25 NBA season. Despite the setback, Jackson is expected to make a full recovery. Last season, Jackson emerged as a key player for the injury-riddled Grizzlies, averaging 14.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. His absence is a significant hit to the Grizzlies, who are hoping to bounce back from a disappointing previous season.
