Colin Farrell has confirmed that The Batman: Part II will pick up just a few weeks after the conclusion of the HBO Max series The Penguin, in which he reprises his role as Gotham's crime lord Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot. The Penguin series acts as a narrative bridge following the chaos at the end of the first Batman film, filling in the power vacuum in Gotham, but Farrell's role in the sequel film will be smaller despite the character's prominence in the show.
