Tigers Top Prospect Kevin McGonigle Joins Arizona Fall League

Detroit Tigers top prospect Kevin McGonigle, ranked as MLB's No. 2 overall prospect, will headline the Scottsdale Scorpions' roster in the 2025 Arizona Fall League starting October 6. Despite missing significant time in the 2024 season due to an ankle sprain and a hamate fracture, McGonigle has excelled offensively across Single-A, High-A, and Double-A levels, posting a .301/.408/.566 slash line with 17 home runs and 75 RBIs. The Fall League will provide McGonigle valuable defensive reps to improve his arm strength and footwork at shortstop, where his defensive skills currently lag behind his hitting prowess. Joining McGonigle on the Scorpions are fellow Tigers prospects Max Anderson and Jake Miller, as well as prospects from other MLB teams, with the league featuring two of the top four MLB prospects for the first time since 2011. The additional playing time in the Fall League is expected to help McGonigle prepare for a potential major league debut in 2026.
