A gunman named Shane Tamura, a former high school football player from Las Vegas, carried out a deadly shooting at 345 Park Avenue in New York City, killing four people including NYPD Officer Didarul Islam before taking his own life. Tamura reportedly targeted the National Football League (NFL) headquarters located in the building, motivated by anger over chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a brain injury linked to football, which he claimed the NFL failed to address. The shooter drove from Las Vegas to New York and mistakenly entered the offices of Rudin Management on the 33rd floor, where he killed additional victims. Tamura had a documented mental health history and left behind a note blaming the NFL for his perceived CTE.
