Chinese mainland Olympians

A delegation of Chinese mainland athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics will visit Hong Kong from August 29 to 31, 2024, with public events including a gala and sports demonstrations. The gala will take place on August 30, followed by demonstrations in badminton, gymnastics, table tennis, diving, and swimming on August 31. Tickets for these events will go on sale on August 22, priced at HK$20 each, with a limit of two tickets per person and a requirement for real-name registration and identity verification. The Hong Kong government emphasizes the visit as a means to strengthen national pride among its citizens, especially youth. Meanwhile, a similar delegation will visit Macao from August 31 to September 2, engaging in activities to connect with local communities. Both visits highlight the success of mainland athletes, who achieved a record medal tally at the recent Olympics.
