Steelers Cool Interest in Tyreek Hill
The Pittsburgh Steelers, 2-1 and in win-now mode with 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers, have added DK Metcalf and traded George Pickens while exploring further receiver upgrades. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported the team would discuss a blockbuster move for Tyreek Hill if Miami engaged, but the Steelers have reportedly cooled interest amid an NFL personal-conduct investigation into domestic violence allegations against Hill. Miami has received no trade calls and does not plan to move Hill; he has also had on-field frustrations with QB Tua Tagovailoa and publicly apologized after comments about leaving the team. Pittsburgh is pursuing more realistic targets, including Buffalo’s Curtis Samuel—who has been a healthy scratch and could provide salary savings—and Las Vegas’ Jakobi Meyers. Any midseason moves would be weighed against the Nov. 4 trade deadline, Pittsburgh’s championship timeline and potential legal and PR complications surrounding Hill.
