Porter Airlines Deploys Embraer E195-E2 Simulator in Montreal Amid Fleet Expansion
Porter Airlines has enhanced its pilot training capabilities by introducing a state-of-the-art Embraer E195-E2 full-flight simulator (FFS) at CAE's Montreal training center, operated in partnership with Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS). This latest generation 7000XR Series simulator, featuring CAE's Prodigy Image Generator powered by Epic Games' Unreal Engine, offers highly realistic and immersive training environments, allowing Porter pilots to train closer to home. Porter has taken delivery of 46 E195-E2 aircraft and plans to expand its fleet to up to 100, making the simulator crucial to support the airline's rapid growth and maintain high safety standards. CAE's Division President for Commercial Aviation, Michel Azar-Hmouda, highlighted that the joint venture with Embraer aims to elevate global aviation safety and training quality for the expanding E195-E2 fleet. The ECTS network also operates similar simulators in Singapore and Madrid and provides training for Embraer Phenom jets in multiple countries, underscoring its commitment to global pilot training infrastructure. Porter’s Executive Vice President Kent Woodside praised CAE’s expertise and the strategic value of local training, which aligns with the airline’s expansion plans and commitment to safety.
