Steve Coogan Stars in Dr. Strangelove Adaptation

Steve Coogan is set to star in the first-ever stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s 'Dr. Strangelove,' playing multiple roles including Dr. Strangelove, President Merkin Muffley, and Major T.J. Kong. The production, directed by Armando Iannucci and Sean Foley, will debut at London's Noël Coward Theatre from October 8, 2024, to January 25, 2025, before moving to Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from February 5 to 22, 2025. Coogan expressed excitement about the challenge of bringing this iconic black comedy to a new audience, noting the responsibility of adapting such a timeless classic. The cast includes notable actors like John Hopkins as General Jack D. Ripper and Giles Terera as General Buck Turgisdon. The adaptation promises to deliver a humorous yet critical take on the themes of nuclear crisis and political absurdity. Tickets for the performances are already on sale.
