Despite doubts, the Nobel Committee's secretary, Olav Njolstad, expressed confidence that a worthy recipient will be found. A total of 286 nominations have been submitted, with well-known candidates including Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskiy among others, though the committee keeps nominations confidential for 50 years. The Peace Prize winner will be announced on October 11, followed by a ceremony on December 10.
